So there's this thing going on at the school my dad works at. Turns out people (students) were getting harassed and threatened on Xanga. Somebody told the principal, and now there's a huge mess of (in my opinion) illegality. Every entry that talked about being a student at the school that they could identify, they called the parents of that person. Not just the harassing ones. Everyone.

Now, I've got to say, they're pretty darn stupid to put their picture and name and school up someplace. I very nearly think that they deserve what they get. But still, this is so many ways of wrong.

These kids were not on the website during school hours, or using school computers. Therefore, (and I have no law experience besides a basic understanding of the constitution, but it seems obvious) the school has no jurisdiction.

If I were one of those people, I'd get a lawyer and fight that. There needs to be some good internet precedent. Might as well set it.

Oh happy day. The download worked.

On a not-so-good note, the site I had been taking all the random Idina clips from is totally shut down. Not even just not letting me download, but the site has used up its bandwidth. I don't know how long it will be down. Which makes me sad.

I have to decide whether to submit this icon I made to the contest that provided me with the bases, or just keep it. It's a Valentine's Day one, so I don't know how much use I would get out of it (as it is 2/18), but the contest deadline isn't until today.

I just know I don't measure up to the people that regularly enter the contest, with their professional photo editor programs and Photoshop 30000. It's like, here's me, on this really basic program that anything I want to do (cropping, stuff like that) has to be done by hand (cutting it pixel by pixel).

Okay, I just reread the contest rules, and looks like I totally misunderstood them. I merged two bases and made that fit the theme. Breaking like 3 rules. And the fact that theme icons and base icons were supposed to be different. So I guess I'm just going to post it here. I'm probably not going to use it unless I happen to get rid of some of my icons, but I think it looks pretty. Even if Valentine's Day was Tuesday.

I don't like downloading other people's caps of TV episodes. Because they don't grab what I would. I'd much rather take my own. For example, I spent a long time downloading a 210 photo zip file of NCIS caps. I weeded through them, and how many did I keep? 16.
