Not for Long (House, Cuddy/Cameron, G)

Not for Long
Author: Alexandria (CrashCart9[at]Yahoo[dot]com)
Fandom: House, MD
Pairing: Cuddy/Cameron
Rating: G
Words: 150
Notes: Written as the story behind one of my LiveJournal user icons.  (For those reading this not
on LJ and/or if I've taken the icon down, the picture is of House’s whiteboard with the writing GH+JW on it and him saying “Okay,
which smart-ass has been playing with my markers?”)

Lisa saw Allison looking through the rack of charts in the clinic.  “Allison?  Why are you down here?”

“Clinic duty.”

“You don’t . . .  oh.  House’s clinic duty.”  Cameron nodded.  “Why do you do it?”

“House just wants to annoy me.  And he knows I’ll tell you, that you’ll get mad, that you’ll assign him more time, and that he can use said time to catch up on his soaps and make out with Wilson.  It’s win-win for him.  I’m thwarting his plans.”  She smiled, putting the two charts already in her arms back in the rack.  Lisa grabbed her hand as they walked to the elevator.

“Do they still believe that nobody knows about them?”  Cuddy settled back into Cameron’s embrace as the elevator doors closed.

Lisa shivered as Allison’s lips almost brushed her ear when the younger doctor whispered, “Not for long.”

I'm very slowly warming to the notion of CuddyCameron. Keep trying to convince me. ^_^ Short, sweet, to the point. Bravo.

ps: if you want to post a "real" link, the code is

< a href = " your full link here " > what you want the link to read here < / a >

but remove all the spaces except "a href" and [obviously] what you want your link to read.

Does that make sense? I can't figure out how to write it as-is without it actually becoming a link. *laughs* I hope that helps.

Been wondering when someone would get annoyed with my little "-->[URL]" things. *Writes down.* I will remember that.
"Very slowly warming"? Well, that's a start. But honestly, the only reason I write this instead of Cuddy/Stacy is that Cuddy/Cameron came first. And the only reason I write femslash rather than slash is that good writers write what they know. I'm not claiming to be a good writer, but I may like to be one if I ever grow up. I have no experience being a gay man, so I'm not as confident in my characterization.
And I know there's some rule that says the comments on the comments must be shorter than the story, so I'm going to stop ranting now. Can you tell it's 2:17 in the morning here? I'm really tired.

Oh, the little url doesn't bother me personally; I just think html is fun. :)

I'm definitely not criticizing the pairing, just saying that as a viewer [and an avid HouseCuddy fan] the idea might take some getting used to. Same with CuddyStacy. And trust me, I have no issues with slash or femslash whatsoever. As long as it's in character, it's fine by me.

Writing what you know is always good. Risks can be good, too.

Eh, rules schmules. And hurray for 2am. That's what time I've been getting to bed all week. Coffee = love.

Ahh. Well, if it makes you feel any more special, I would totally be House/Cuddy, if I weren't already those other pairings. Seeing as how none of my pairings will ever be on TV, that's the one I'm rooting for. It'd be a total snarkfest!

Ahaha, I need to get a wriggle on with my half, don't I? I've been sprouting ideas, but right now I can't do much writing of anything, save homework and exam prep. CURSE YOU EXAMS

[identity profile] crashcart9.livejournal.com 2005-10-20 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha. Our exams aren't for a while. But homework is totally killing me. The only time I really get to go online is when I've just finished my homework and it's 4am and not worth it to go to bed for an hour and a half.
But anyway, you may wriggle as much as you need. (Thought that was a nice ambiguous comment.)

Hee! I do like the idea of Cameron thwarting House's plans.
