Of the tests over the 3 books that we were supposed to read this summer for english, I got the best marks (perfect on both) on the two over the book that I didn't read.

Welcome to the universe.

The blurb on the back of the DVD box for SG-1 season 3 episode 4 ("Legacy") lies. Like majorly. (Though I suppose it does that quite often. Do the people that write the blurbs actually watch the episode?)

It says "A mysterious tablet discovered on a distant planet infects anyone who touches it with a hallucinogen. The remarkable stone infects Teal'c and, before long, the entire team except Hammond. Can Hammond stop it and save SG-1 alone?"

*Is indignant.* Hammond did not do a single gosh darn thing.

Janet saved freaking everyone, even when she was all distracted by being infected by the blue bug things (and taking off her shirt). And Sam was able to carry out Janet's plan, even when she was all distracted by Janet taking off her shirt. So I'm thinking Janet is number one and Sam number two in the saving the team thing, and Hammond doesn't even rank.

/indignancy.

I'm on season 3 now, so I don't have to wait for the disks to come into the library anymore. At least not for however long it takes me to finish seasons 3 and 4. Yay for that.

Do you ever look at fanfiction archives and find stories that you didn't remember ever writing?

I seem to do that a lot.

Stupid (lack of) memory.

If anyone has any ideas for my History of the Americas research paper thingie, I am most definitely floundering for a topic. I've got virtually free reign over what to write about, but it's got to be obviously historical and I have to have enough resources to be able to write about it, but it can't be something so broad or common that lots of other people would write about it.

History isn't really my thing. I liked it last year because I had a really good teacher, but I really don't know anything about possible research paper topics because when I wrote papers for other history classes, it was always "The Civil War's Contribution to Modern Medicine" and things of that sort. I'd really like to be able to write something like that, but the restrictions are tight as to how you have to format this thing (it's not your standard research paper) and that looks like it's going to make things difficult.

So, to sum up, any ideas about specific topics to write a History of the Americas research paperthing on that have a real and obvious connection to history would be really appreciated.

I'm going to start only eating egg substitute.

Because if I wanted to, I could cook up the whole container of it (which is supposed to be equivalent to 8 eggs) for only 240 calories.

So. Posted a thing starting an icon contest on [livejournal.com profile] cameroncuddy. I'm a bit worried that I'll have no takers, or only one or two, which would suck.
