Sep. 17th, 2006 12:14 amBought Firefly, as my old disks were all scratched up. Yay for that. In between doing my english paper (as I really just wrote down some crap when I had to have the draft on Wednesday) and reffing again, I'm going to try to watch some of it. (Though all anybody in my family wants to watch is "Our Mrs. Reynolds" and "Jaynestown". Disk 2 was the only one that still worked in the last months, so I've seen those a bazillion times recently.)
Fics that have medical bits that are wrong sort of bug me. I mean, I realize that most of the time they're not medicalprofessionals geeks like I am, and it doesn't bug me nearly as much as when TV shows mess things up (as they've got medical consultants on staff), but it does. And I feel bad for taking this story that I read earlier tonight and being instantly biased against it because its use of the different types of seizures wasn't quite correct. (Though that bit of the story seemed unnecissary, and I'm not sure why it was in there at all.)
Depending on how tired I am when I actually get back to bed (which I'm thinking is going to happen in the next few minutes, as I've got to go to the bathroom and I'm too lazy to close all my internet windows and walk all the way to the back of the house just to walk back again, when my bedroom is right there) I might try and work on some more writing stuff, just random crap that I've been jotting down. I've also got 70 someodd pages of history to read by Friday, so I've got to get started on that.
A story for me to leave by: I was talking to someone in my english class, and we were discussing how when we were young, babysitting was just making sure we weren't killing each other while we watched a movie, and these days you've got to run around and play tag and entertain them. Not that I don't like playing with the kids, there's a set of twins on the corner from me that I love to death, but back when I was getting babysat (which was all of like 3 times in my entire life), the sitter had a much easier job.
But anyway, the funny part of the story. When talking about the things that the kids want to do, she said "playing house", which I immediately took to be "playing House", and had to try not to laugh as I was thinking that I would have fun doing that.
